First Some check points need to check for layered security

1. Network firewall
2. IDS and IPS
3. Malware Detection
4. Whitelisting
5. Spam Filtering
6. Keeping Software up to Date
7. Physical security

This security is built in layers that overlap to offer the three aspects necessary to secure assets: prevention, detection, and reaction.

Today's cyber threat scenario necessitates layered security methods. Rather of waiting for assaults to impact endpoints, layered security takes a comprehensive approach to cyber defense, accounting for the several channels via which current malware is distributed and emphasizing the relevance of network and end-user security.

This method has the following benefits:
1. It protects against ascendant polymorphic malware.
2. Protection from email attachments, files, adware, links, programmed, and other forms of assault
3. DNS-level security to protect against attacks that originate on the network
4. User education initiatives to address the source of 93% of all data breaches: human error
