Bulletproof hosting (BPH) is a technological infrastructure service supplied by a web hosting company that is resistant to complaints of illegal activity and acts as a fundamental building block for criminal actors to streamline different cyberattacks. [1] It also includes the provider's permission to host online gambling, illicit pornography, botnet C&C servers, spam, copyrighted materials, hate speech, and disinformation, despite court orders, law enforcement subpoenas, and acceptable use policies prohibiting such content (AUP). [2] [3] [4] BPH mainly operates in places with lax legislation prohibiting such actions from being prosecuted. Most non-BPH service providers forbid transferring materials over their network that are in violation of their terms of service and local laws of the incorporated jurisdiction, and abuse reports frequently result in takedowns to prevent their autonomous system's IP block from being blacklisted by other providers and Spamhaus.
